Merry Christmas from the Sheffer's!
2022 has been one to remember. Dean and I are winding down a bit. We are comfortable. Our home is warm when it is -8 outside. We like to stay by the fire a lot.
Dean spent all summer cutting up wood. He had our old Elm tree chopped down and the bigger pieces he just said to leave and he would split them up for firewood. Well, Elm trees are wet inside and when it rains they soak up water like a sponge, but he is hoping they dry out enough to use, cause all the pieces are split perfectly to fit our wood burning stove now. THEN, our neighbors cut down their old cottonwood trees and they left a lot of the wood for him to split. So he hammered and sawed and axed again and in a few years when everything is dry we can use that wood too. We are set.
Angeli had quite a year too. She now gets to take heart medicine to regulate the beat and she broke her ankle slipping on a slick rock in the creak. It was dislocated and broken tibia and fibula. So that has taken a while to heal. She got to do a lot of playing the piano or sewing. Not much else. Angels surrounded our home during that time. She's all better now.
Trisa and Jared had another wedding in June. She also had her first grandchild, Clara. (We are now Grampa and Gramma Great). They have finished their basement up beautifully.
Crystal and Jared moved to Florida. Jared works for USDA and now does a lot of ocean work which he loves. Crystal has her quilting machine and the kids keep her going.
Ryan still works for Family Search and teaches a college class on line. Bridget teaches at UVU.
Cody still works for CSC doing mortgages and Lisa works making vanilla. She also sings in American Festival Chorus.
Kami and Levi moved to Loon Lake Washington where they bought a home that needed some love and now it doesn't. They also are taking over another girl's home.
Raychel made it to the Boston Marathon again and this time she is going. She runs around as a Mom but also does impressive miles on the trails. Paul works at HAFB.
Sheila is doing a fantastic job at Garfield Memorial Clinic. She also does Home Health on the weekends keeps up with the kids and all the house. She is remodeling a bathroom and more.
Alisa continues to teach orchestra at the school. Casey changed jobs to Cytiva where he gets to travel a bit, has more flexibility and still is a quality engineer.
Our grandchildren are the cutest and best ever. (Speaking like a true grandma). We have 35 with 3 married and 1 with a cute little baby girl. They are growing too fast, but we are grateful for them, love to see them become strong adults and thinkers and stay close to family. We loved learning the Old Testament this year. It began with a family, and it ended with family. This world would be a waste without family. It's what it is all about. Much love to each of you. Dean and Angeli
