We have been in a motel this whole time. We just signed in to stay 2 more nights. which will make an entire week. We finally got an apartment, but it is dirty and not so great, it will need to be cleaned. Read my blog for our first nights escapades. Today we have put getting an apartment a priority. But it looks like it will be another 2 days. The hotel we are in is clean, wonderful Flippino food, internet. When we eat breakfast it is like being in a quaint romantic restaurant. Then you step outside into another world. The cars drive 1 inch from each other -- 3 lanes,if you can call them lanes, motorcycles weave in and out among them, big trucks, jeap knees full of Filipino people (left over jeaps from the war).Tricycles -- a motorcycle that has an extra wheel on the side with a box on it. Here a whole family rides kids on back in front, wife and children in box on side. They drive on the right, but if no one is coming they take up the other lane too. If you hear a horn it means look out I am coming through. It's funny because no one gets angry and we haven't seen an accident yet (however this is bound to happen). We are going to get our drivers license and get a car on Monday. We have been busy, but have had serious jet lag. Today is the first day we feel normal and can't do anything cause we are waiting for apartment to come through. There has been a wonderful couple -- The Schlagers -- who come to pick us up and take us where we need to go like zone conference or shopping. The other night we had dinner with the mission Pres and Area Rep. several other couples and assistants to Pres. They are all such wonderful good people. You are so far away. We miss you already.
